Project Overview

Assurant’s Industry Insights page serves as a comprehensive hub for thought leadership, offering articles, eBooks, case studies, and videos across sectors like mobile technology, automotive, housing, and sustainability. The platform aims to inform partners and clients about emerging trends, technological advancements, and consumer behaviors.

The Challenges

The original News section on Assurant.com was built primarily for press releases, not long-form content. As the marketing and content teams began publishing industry insights, the limitations became clear—the design relied on outdated branding and lacked the features of a modern content hub, making it hard to showcase the full value of their thought leadership.

Information Architecture

Through competitive analysis and design workshops, I partnered with the Assurant.com content team to improve how users access and explore the Insights blog. We identified ways to enhance search, categorization, and filtering, making content easier to find. We also created opportunities to drive subscriptions and elevate the visibility of the Assurant Insights brand.

Article UX Enhancements

The original Assurant blog offered only the most basic publishing tools—limited to headlines and body text—which made it difficult for content teams to drive engagement. To address this, we led workshops and conducted competitive analysis to develop a feature wishlist that shaped the redesign roadmap. Key additions included hero images, captions, embedded media widgets, and other essential elements that added depth and flexibility to each article.

Wireframes

Each key page—such as the main blog landing, line-of-business landing, and individual article pages—was wireframed to support a range of new features that would empower the Assurant marketing team in content creation. The goal was to ensure components worked cohesively across templates while surfacing any design constraints or conflicts early on. Multiple layout options were tested with stakeholders and user testers to guide decisions and shape the final user experience.

Visual Design

The final visual design leveraged Assurant’s brand and newly developed design system to create a clean, intuitive user experience. The design brought clarity and cohesion to a complex section of the Assurant content experience. Layouts prioritized readability and hierarchy, ensuring users could quickly navigate, scan, and interact with key information.
